WHAT CAN I EXPECT AT MY FIRST VISIT?
I understand that attending your first session can be intimidating or nervewracking. At our first session, you will complete some initial paperwork and I will go over the counselling process and answer any additional questions you may have. After that, we will work together to explore your personal history and determine your counselling needs. Initial goals of therapy may be created. At the end of our session, we will discuss next steps and book an appointment if you feel comfortable.
HOW MUCH DOES THERAPY COST?
An individual 50-minute session is $120 and a 75-minute couples session is $200. Payment is required at the time of service in the form of e-transfer or credit. A receipt will be issued at the time of payment.
For online counselling sessions, payment is required at the start of each session in the form of e-transfer or credit.
IS THERAPY COVERED BY INSURANCE?
Many insurance companies cover psychotherapy services from a Registered Psychotherapist, but please check with them to determine your coverage. Please note that I do not direct bill so payment is still required at the time of service regardless of your coverage. If psychotherapy is not covered by your benefits, it can be written off as a medical expense for taxes.
DO YOU OFFER SLIDING SCALE RATES?
Yes! Whether you are a student or single parent, I understand that finances can be tight for some individuals who need counselling. By offering affordable mental health counselling, I hope to eliminate financial barriers to your personal and mental health needs.

HOW LONG DOES THERAPY TAKE?
Individual sessions are 50-minutes and couple's sessions are 75-minutes in length, allowing time for scheduling and record keeping. Depending on your counselling needs, shorter or longer sessions may be scheduled at a prorated rate.
The total number of sessions will vary across individuals, with many needing 6-12 sessions depending on presenting concerns. We will work together to discuss your treatment plan on a continual basis.

I have experience using a range of counselling interventions and techniques. My speciality is Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), but I take great care in assessing each client to provide individualized treatment. WHAT IF I HAVE TO CANCEL OR RESCHEDULE A SESSION?
I kindly ask 48 hours notice for cancelling or rescheduling an appointment or a fee of half the session rate will apply. "No-shows" will be charged the full fee. In unforeseen circumstances, such as inclement weather or medical emergencies, please contact me to discuss.
